PEERS® for Adolescents is an evidence-based program for adolescents who want to strengthen their social skills, make and keep friends, and handle conflict, rejection, teasing and bullying.

The program consists of 16 weekly 90-minute sessions, with participation from the adolescent and their parents or caregivers. Learning takes place through structured lessons, demonstrations, role plays and practical activities, while parents attend parallel sessions to support the process in daily life.

Skills addressed: conversation, entering and exiting conversations, appropriate use of humor, handling disagreements, electronic communication, organizing social gatherings, good sportsmanship, managing teasing, rejection and peer victimization, and changing reputation.

The program is implemented by Janeth Hernández-Jaramillo, certified in PEERS® for Adolescents and a member of TeensNeuroLink™, following the original manualized model. She is listed in the official PEERS® Certified Providers directory of the UCLA PEERS® Clinic.
